All require both a close working relationship with the trading desks as well as colleagues in IT&D. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES You would be part of the Single Delivery Organisation, the Operational Planning and Management team own and manage the content of the GM&T commercial operating plan and provide review design and delivery services as appropriate. The team is responsible for process ownership, re-engineering, challenge of business cases and effective change management to fulfil business requirements. Project manage the operation readiness process to allow access to new markets for the GM&T group. This can involve leading and coordinating setup of new trading licenses, access to grid networks, exchanges, cross border/pipeline capacity auction, release capacity auctions and new branch set up. Research and project manage the maintenance and set up of new commodities, physical and financial products and instruments for the GM&T Group. Coordination of delivery projects relating to company operating plan milestones – working closely with many departments across GM&T Ltd and its subsidiaries to include Risk, Finance, Trading, Operations, Credit Risk, Tax, Regulatory Affairs and Legal. Managing relevant internal approval processes and sign offs. Support the development of Origination and structured deals as appropriate. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Accounting: • Evaluation of specific commercial issues relating to GMT’s trading, origination and business development activities, with direct liaison with finance and non finance senior management across the business. • Review and maintenance of established Group accounting procedures and policies, ensuring ongoing accuracy with commercial and IFRS developments, compliance and consistency across the Group • Act as centre of expertise for technical accounting issues across GMT’s global subsidiaries, in addition GMT’s parent company and the wider Gazprom Group. This would involve a high level of liaison with senior management across the Group • Advice to business and Finance Managers on technical accounting issues (e.g. statutory reporting and disclosure issues, month end reporting issues, budgeting, planning and forecasting issues, with focus on high value and complex items such as new contracts, acquisitions and reorganisations) including development of relevant workshops if necessary. • Proactively manage GMT’s external auditors on a broad range of issues – including technical accounting, reporting & disclosures, operational and commercial. Develop robust IFRS papers, based on a deep commercial understanding to support the audit process. • Complete financial decision support papers for Director of Finance and other senior finance management to aid established internal corporate governance processes. • Perform technical assessment of new financial reporting developments, including providing comments to the IASB on proposed changes to IFRS standards • Work on special ad hoc projects seen across the GMT and Gazprom Group, including M&A activity, corporate restructuring & debt arrangements. • Run and manage the GMT Global Finance Academy – provide tailored monthly training to GMTs global finance staff. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Skills: • Very strong accounting skills required, particularly IFRS. These skills must have been demonstrated in practice; theoretical knowledge will not be sufficient. • Outstanding technical accounting skills are essential, i.e. the ability to understand and interpret complex trading contracts, place that interpretation into the conceptual accounting framework and subsequently ensure the derived treatment is applied in practice. • Detailed understanding of financial instruments is essential. To support the team with calculation and preparation of trading gross margins, from energy trading risk management systems to the general ledger in SAP, a trade accountant is sought with demonstrable, hands-on experience of transactional level reconciliation work, specifically within a trading environment. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Support the preparation of GM&T’s Gross Margin in SAP, reconciling transactional data from Energy Trading Risk Management systems, associated valuation models as well as any other necessary manual or offline postings. Focus will be on pipeline gas and power trading businesses, as well as associated derivative hedging (inc. Gas, Power and FX forwards, cleared swaps and futures, gas options and other transaction types). Identify and resolve any breaks in preparing the above, both ensuring immediate resolution within any monthly close (e.g. via preparation of appropriate reversing journals into SAP), as well as owning and leading more strategic initiatives to address the data or process issue at source. Support the preparation of GM&T’s derivative balance sheet, ensuring both vanilla and complex valuation approaches are reflected correctly and presented accurately in the company’s accounts. ROLE OBJECTIVES The responsibility of this role is to maximise cash collections for the debtor’s ledger working on varied accounts by utilising various methods available, predominately telephone chasing and some by letter, email and query resolution. Excellent negotiation and customer service skills are essential in ensuring the customers pay within their agreed terms in order to reduce the overall outstanding debt due to the company. Strong interpersonal skills required as there will be a requirement to work closely with other inter-company departments. Excellent administration and organisation skills are also essential in ensuring support is given at all times and that work is prioritised during the day. The role involves working very much as part of the team offering on-going support but also working with own initiative whilst managing personal workload. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES To contact all overdue accounts on their ledger by maximising outgoing calls during the month Maintain the status of all on going debt collection utilising the debt management system Follow up on deadlines and coordinate further action were require (disconnection/legal) Work towards targets for cash collection to reduce outstanding debt exposure to the company Record accurately any invoice disputes relating to overdue debt, ensure dispute resolved and communicate outcome to customer Ability to deal with meter disconnections with firmness but also with understanding and support where necessary SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Excellent customer service & telephone manner, good negotiator Excellent interpersonal & organisation skills Concern for accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines/targets Proactive in achieving results Able to cope with multiple priorities and changing environment Diligent and dependable Mature and professional attitude to work Able to work as part of a team as well as individually, managing own workload and multi task EXPERIENCE Knowledge of working with SAP Demonstrable credit control experience Demonstrates a sound understanding of PC software (e.g. Financial systems, Word, Excel, Power point, e-mail)
