Cultural Heritage Adviser

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide functional and strategic delivery for the Cultural Heritage and Aboriginal Engagement team in the establishment, implementation and on-going delivery of cultural heritage requirements across the assets. This will be delivered in line with the company values, Santos Management System and regulatory requirements. 
 
About the Role:
 
  • Responsible for the delivery of cultural heritage and access agreements and approvals across assets 
  • Assist in the negotiation and implementation of cultural heritage agreements as required
  • Responsible for ensuring access obligations and compliance actions are captured and administered in the Comtrack database
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including asset partners, native title parties, statutory and regulatory bodies
  • Attendance and interface at asset specific planning and execution meetings
  • Supervise and facilitate work programs on site on an as required basis
  • Apply thinking in area of expertise - deliver plans and work as directed aligning to the company’s strategy
  • Understands change and performance mindset and participates to achieve desired culture outcomes 
  • Understands team purpose and role accountabilities that need to be delivered
  • Contributes to delivering on cost reduction efficiencies and value creation strategies as directed
  • Effective and timely collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Upholds and ensures compliance with all company standards and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with and adherence to standards for EHS performance and behaviour consistent with Company’s environmental, and health & safety vision and policies and standards
 
About You:
 
  • Completion of study at diploma or degree level
  • Previous experience in the areas of cultural heritage, native title and land access within the resource industry
  • Experience in working with landholders, traditional owners and statutory bodies
  • Experience with interpreting and managing state, territory and federal legislation
  • Understanding of petroleum exploration, development and production operations
