Job Description:

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for three Systems Engineers – Instrument to join the Wheatstone and Gorgon Systems (Engineering) Teams. Reporting to the Wheatstone Technical Systems Manager and Gorgon Systems Manager, these permanent roles will be based in Perth with occasional travel to site as needed.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Act as the technical focal point for specified systems for operations and asset management
  • Work with Production and Maintenance Teams to identify and prioritise risks and opportunities within specified systems to deliver area-wide business outcomes in line with the asset risk portfolio
  • Frame issues and interface with Technical Projects Team for successful handover and act as the asset focal point for Minor Design Changes (MDCs) and project delivery
  • Ensure system management of change (MOCs) is managed and holistic approach is taken to ensure be best outcome for the business
  • Provide technical support to the Frontline Production, Maintenance and Engineering staff to manage emerging and immediate threats to safe continued operation
  • Act as a discipline engineer with the Systems Team to resolve issues in-house where appropriate
  • Contribute to process hazard analysis, investigations and MOCs as a discipline engineer
  • Ensure technical integrity is maintained within systems engaging subject matter experts where required
  • Commitment to health, environment and safety and Chevron best practices

 

Key skills and experience required:

 

  • Minimum of Bachelor in Engineering
  • Skilled understanding of general instrumentation and their application within offshore and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facilities (Temperature/Pressure/Flow/Level instrumentation, control valves, etc.). including codes and standards for instrumentation installation API 551, 554, 670, NACE requirements, hazardous area requirements, foundation fieldbus, etc.
  • Ability to lead and co-ordinate technical troubleshooting efforts and work with cross functional teams
  • Ability to oversee and co-ordinate rotating equipment issues across assigned area of responsibility
  • Experience in operations maintenance support roles
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards is desirable. Practical working knowledge of relevant Western Australian codes and standards
  • Creative thinking and can-do mindset to facilitate solutions in the field
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
