We have a phenomenal development opportunity for a mechanical engineer with fixed plant based experience at our Fort McMurray location. You will use your expertise to:Craft reliability-centred inspection and maintenance plans for critical equipment Provide leadership, by acting as an example, to promote a culture of safety Troubleshoot equipment in complex systems Take initiative in the assessment of emerging and ongoing risks and provide effective mitigation strategies to the reliability lead Inspect work at external fabrication and repair shops when required Participate in risk reviews to ensure standards are followed and only safe work is being executed Provide solutions for bad actor resolution including procedure and operational changes, equipment strategy improvements, material improvements and equipment design changes Build risk assessments and recommend short term solutions and long term plans for mitigation and control Ensure that all work scopes and engineered solutions can be implemented safely and will perform in a safe manner Identify and optimize plant availability, reliability and market competitiveness We’d like to review your application if you have… Must-haves (minimum requirements):A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Two years of post-graduate experience or co-op experience while in university Fixed plant based maintenance or reliability experience Been registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability A continuous improvement mindset and you are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace Preference for:SAP Business Warehouse knowledge American Petroleum Institute (API) inspection and repair experience Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday This position is safety sensitive If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
