We’re on a journey to transform our customers’ experiences at our retail and wholesale Petro-Canada sites and we’re looking for a creative and dedicated solution design expert to provide guidance, direction and substantially impact the successful delivery of our Information Technology (IT) projects for our Downstream business. You will take pride in playing a key role in managing the delivery of application and systems designs and technical interface solutions for multiple complex projects.
You will use your expertise to:Review and integrate the Technical Architecture requirements for the development, execution, and operations environments
Work closely with our Infrastructure Solution Designers to provide direction and recommendations regarding hardware, network products, system software, and security Plan and lead the Technical Architecture analysis, design, and implementation
Manage the technical integration across projects, acting as the liaison between project application teams and our infrastructure and database teams
Coordinate with Solution Architects and application solution designer teams to ensure the infrastructure is in place and that it meets project needs
Collaborate with the infrastructure team to plan proper patching and maintenance of project environments
Work with our Enterprise and Solution Architects to define and improve the Technical Architecture vision and roadmap by working closely with our project and infrastructure teams.
Reduce technical risk by upskilling our scrum/project teams through mentoring and providing technical guidance across elements such as database best practices, coding guidelines, and naming conventions

Must-haves (minimum requirements):10 years of solutions design experience for application integration and interfaces for large enterprises
Three years of experience leading and influencing IT resources
Experience with programming languages such as C variant (C, C++, C#), ASP .Net, HTML/CSS
Experience with at least one database product (e.g. Oracle DB, DB2, SQL)
A Computer Science degree or related technical college diploma
Sound technical knowledge of current application integration technologies (e.g. Web Methods, Mulesoft) and cloud based architecture, web and mobile based applications and interface development tools
Knowledge of common services and integration management for application programming interfaces, data extraction and transformation services
Exposure to structured IT project implementation methodologies and practices (agile, iterative, waterfall)
Strong written and verbal communication skills at both a technical and business level and you build positive relationships with highly dispersed and dynamic teams

Preference for:Experience with retail Point of Sale (POS) systems and the technical integration with payment, gift card, inventory management and loyalty rewards systems
Experience managing vendors
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:You will work out of our Oakville office, located at 3275 Rebecca Street, with occasional travel/work in our Mississauga office located at 2489 North Sheridan Way
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
