A Technical Sales Engineer is needed to assist this growing firm that specializes in designing and fabricating equipment for oil wells, including Explosion-Proof Electrical Connectors, Wellhead Feedthrus, Downhole Pressure Devices, and other specialty products. We are looking for a strong self-starter to handle customer inquiries, product quotation requests, and proposals, and work closely with Applications, Inventory, Design Engineering Team, and Manufacturing to convert Quotations to Order, as well as generate and follow-up on quotes, keep track of projects from quote to shipment to keep the customer up to date. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: (Other duties may be assigned) - Acquire and maintain knowledge of all products. - Review Request for Quotes (RFQ) requests and execute clean RFQ processes from commercial, technical, and operational standpoints. - Provide commercial and technical RFQ assistance to internal and external customers. - Follow up with customers to ensure that the quote was received, answer any questions, and identify when an order may be placed. - Manage open orders and follow them from start to finish through intercommunication with Marketing and Design Engineering, Inventory/Purchasing Department, and Production/Manufacturing team. - Use ERP/MRP software to document and track orders. - Provide support for inquiries of field sales and/or customers. - Support other organizations or departments for any internal or external audit - Interface with customers, representatives, and peers for coordination and accomplishment of assigned tasks - Assist in document creation to simplify and explain production applications to the customer, using Adobe CS programs. Supervision Responsibilities: No supervisory duties Organizational Responsibilities: Receive direction from the Applications/Sales Engineering Team Interact with other team members from various departments. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or past work experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas sector Fluency in English Customer orientated Problem-solving and reasoning skills Detail-oriented, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to excel in a self-directed work setting. Ability to react to changing demands and deadlines. Able to communicate with customers in a clear, customer-focused, and understood manner Attention to details Interpersonal skills Ability to identify problems, collect data, confirm facts and execute solutions for corresponding problems. Must possess a valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of past engineering-based customer service and/or technical sales Experience associated with the oil and gas industry Experience with 3-D modeling software Adobe Creative Suite Travel: · Occasional travel within California. · Occasional offshore travel may be required (additional training will be required and provided) Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
